Traditional and Alternative Medicine (TAM) is an important and essential component of our healthcare delivery system. Our healthcare delivery system is incomplete without TAM.

TAM is rightly regulated by the Traditional Medicine Practice Act, 2000, Act (575), is the Legislative framework that regulates TAM practice in Ghana.

Act 575 established the Traditional Medicine Practice Council (TMPC) as the regulatory institution mandated to promote, regulate and control TAM the country, in 2004.

TMPC which commenced full regulatory activities in September 2007 has not relented in its efforts, to promote efficacious and quality TAM.

TMPC has adopted best practice strategies and approaches to instill sanity and discipline in TAM practice in the country.
